Buggy is here. The teams are ready, the course is set, and the alumni are back in town!

One of the highlights of Spring Carnival is the annual Sweepstakes event. We will be continuing our tradition of covering the event live, right here at cmuTV.org. We have several new ideas planned for this year’s event and we can’t wait to show them to you. Among them will be a new, easier to use online stream.

We’ve also posted an item on our order page to pre-order the Buggy 2010 DVD. Orders will ship in early May. We also have Buggy DVDs all the way back to the year 2003 available. If you’re interested, check out our online store.

Buggy 2009 DVDs are available for purchase on our DVD Order page.  In addition, students may tune into channel 17 on the campus cable system to watch the replays from Buggy finals.

Special thanks to Alex Andrews, Andy Bordick, Alan Charness, and Mark Estes for providing great commentary during the races.  Thanks to the Buggy Alumni Association and WRCT for making this year’s broadcast the best yet!  Be sure to watch out for some exclusive online-only Buggy footage to be uploaded in the coming weeks.

 

The webcast of the Buggy 2009 finals will be live until the evening of Tuesday, April 21.  Finals will continue to replay on campus cable channel 17 for a few more days.

cmuTV is busy preparing for Buggy 2009! We’re sending camera and interview crews to practice rolls each weekend between now and race day to capture the hard work, dedication, and excitement leading up to the races.  In addition, this year we’re teaming up with Andy Bordick (PiKA ‘94) and Mark Estes (SN ‘87) from the CMU Buggy Alumni Association and Alex Andrews from the CMU Variety Hour for insightful commentary and announcing of the races.

Buggy races were held starting at 8:00am the mornings of Friday, April 18th and Saturday, April 19th. cmuTV broadcast the event on channel 17 to campus and online. DVDs will be available, and may be purchased at our online store.
