Bill Gates and Henry Hillman cut the ribbon on the Gates-Hillman Center

On September 22, 2009, Carnegie Mellon University welcomed Bill Gates and Pittsburgh philanthropists Henry and Elsie Hillman to dedicate the new home of the School of Computer Science, the Gates-Hillman center. Mr. Gates gave a keynote talking about philanthropy and the advancement of technology in education. He also took questions from the crowd on issues ranging from open source software to intellectual property.

We’ll be on the CFA lawn from 4:30-6:30 (rain location Wiegand Gym). Drop by and say hello! Our first official meeting will be the following day, September 3rd, in the UC McKenna room. We’ll let you know the exact time at the activities fair. If you can’t make the activities fair, send an email to cmutv@andrew.cmu.edu letting us know you’re interested.

cmuTV is comprised of students from all years and majors: engineering, creative writing, computer science, information systems, and history just to name a few! Our members come from a variety of television production backgrounds, from having no experience at all to having worked intensively with high school television stations. All levels of expertise are encouraged to join!

The Student Body President and Vice President of Finance debates were held on Monday, March 23 at 5pm in DH 2315, hosted by The Tartan and cmuTV.  cmuTV is currently airing footage from the debates on channel 17.

Elections open on Sunday, March 29th at Noon and close on Tuesday, March 31th at 6 PM.
